Schools and the Children’s Aid Society – A Guide for Teachers and Parents

This document may be helpful to teachers and school board officials who want to avoid a lawsuit against them as well as by parents parents who are having problems with child protection workers from various child protection agencies in Canada going into their children’s schools to unlawfully detain and interrogate their children without the knowledge or informed consent of the parents or the children themselves. While this document has been written with referenced to Ontario laws, the legal principles which prevent children from being unlawfully interrogated at their schools apply across Canada.
