Review of Trillium Lakelands District School Board Policy involving CAS - public review and comment invited 1  

(June 12, 2100) An updated draft of an analysis of the Trillium Lakelands District School Board Policy (Dated June 12, 2011)on its dealings with the local Children's Aid Agencies has been released for public comment.

The author of the document believes that his analysis reveals that the Board policy is flawed in a number of areas and some sections of the policy unlawful when it comes to allowing CAS workers into the schools to detain and to interrogate children without informed consent.

15-year-old girl assaulted by police and CAS staff

(April 9, 2011) A 15-year-old teen has contacted Court Watch to advise us that she was assaulted by police and forced into a police cruiser and told that she would be arrested if she did not comply. All this at the order of CAS workers acting unlawfully and giving orders to police to do the dirty work of the CAS workers.

Police caught on tape conducting an illegal search for Children's Aid

Canada Court Watch has been contacted by a parent who has indicated that he recorded the police entering his home to conduct an illegal search of his home at the orders of CAS workers.

Ontario lawyer says he would rather live in a cardboard box under the Gardner Expressway than practice family law 2  

(March 28, 2011) A practicing lawyer with over 20 years experience on the Bar had stated to Court Watch that he would rather live in a cardboard box under Toronto's Gardner Expressway and be homeless before he ever became a family law lawyer. This lawyers comments only go to show how even lawyers know how out of control the family court system has become. Study shows how child support guidelines punish those who pay support

(March 26, 2011) For those who still believe that child support payments in Canada are fair and just then the attached file should give those unbelievers something to ponder. In reality, child support in Canada is very punitive and unfair. Every year in Canada, support payers end up taking their own lives out of desperation after being chased by the FRO and other government collection agencies.

Plea hearing for CAS foster parent charged with rape and sex with a foster girl under the age of 16 3  

On Monday March 21 at 2;00 PM in courtroom 407 at the court at 1911 Eglinton Ave. E. near Warden Ave., a former CAS foster father, Howard Smith, will be entering his plea on charges of rape and having sex with a minor under the age of 16 years of age while the girl was in his care as a foster parent for the CAS.

The girl became pregnant and had the child. DNA testing has already confirmed that the CAS foster father is the biological father.

Justice Wood of Bracebridge, Ontario Court impressed by the efforts of Canada Court Watch supporters 2  

(March 15, 2010) It was reported to Canada Court Watch by parties who appeared before Justice Wood at the court in Bracebridge, Ontario that Justice Wood was very impressed with the assistance provided by Canada Court Watch to the parties before him in his court.

With the help of good citizens and volunteer supporters with Canada Court Watch, the parties were able to close down their court case, get CAS out of their lives and reach a peaceful solution to their once adversarial court matters involving the CAS. Both parties walked out of the court together.

Trillium Lakelands District School Board Policies riddled with potential criminal and civil rights violations

A special investigative team has done a preliminary review of the Trillium Lakelands District School Board Policies on Child Abuse and is of the opinion that the Board policy is riddled with clauses which have the potential to create human rights violations, Charter Rights violations and Criminal Code Violations.

The Committee will be conducting a full review of the police of this school board and will be posting a report on line in the near future.

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board covers Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton County and the District of Muskoka.

Children abused by CAS in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board district in spite of warnings to Board

(Feb 26, 2011) Just this week, more young children have reported being abused by unregistered CAS workers while at their school in the Trillium Lakeland District School Board. In a letter sent from Court Watch to the Board back in December of 2010, the Board was warned of the problem of unregistered CAS workers harassing children almost three months ago, with no action being taken. The Board did not even respond to the letter from Court Watch which is why we have decided to make the letter public at this time.
