Quotes to Inspire

People crushed by laws, have no hope but to evade power. If the laws are their enemies, they will be enemies to the law; and those who have most to hope and nothing to lose will always be dangerous.

It time for the legal establishment to show respect for one of Ontario's greatest jurists, former Chief Justice W.G.C. Howland

More than 20 years ago, the Chief Justice of Ontario at the time, W.G.C. Howard, made a bold decision intended to make the courts more open, transparent and affordable for the people of Ontario.

He ordered that the rights of the people of Ontario to record their own court hearings as laid out under Section 136(2)(b) of the Courts of Justice Act was to be respected by the courts and administration without having to argue this before the court. Howland had the insight to know what was right for the people of Ontario.

Ontario Chief Justice William Carrington Howland was a true advocate for transparency in the courts

(Nov 19, 2011) While many of the judges in our courts today make a mockery of the Justice system, just like our fallen Canadian soldiers who gave their lives in the name of freedom for Canadians, we must still not forget and to give respect to those respectable members of the legal profession who have done their part in the overall effort to protect the laws and the people of Canada.
