Children's Aid Society of Nipissing and Parry Sound turns children over to violent and abusive mother +  

Canada Court Watch has been altered to a situation in which the Children's Aid Society of Nipissing and Parry Sound has turned children over to a mother who has a history of violence and abuse against her children, her ex-husband as well as others in the community. According to sources, the mother had assault charges laid against her by police at the time the Society gave her the children.

Many consider this to be a good move which will ultimately save the taxpayers money by minimizing the duplication of services while at the same time improve services to children and families.

(April 10, 2010) Children's Aid society workers take children away from parents every day and claim that parents are bad people and poor parents. Many CAS workers act like gods while they intimidate and threaten parents. Yet who are these workers who are being paid by the government of Ontario to tell parents how to raise their kids? Crown Prosecutors can be forced to testify in court says Supreme Court Of Canada

(April 9, 2010) According to an article published in the Globe and Mail, the Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that Crown Prosecutors cannot be immune from having to testify in court. This should open the door to some lawsuits against those Crowns who maliciously pursue guilty convictions or guilty pleas rather than seeking the truth for the benefit of society. Crowns are supposed to be working for the people of Canada in the name of justice and democracy, not for themselves and their personal reputations.

Some Legal Aid Lawyers failing to serve the public

Canada Court Watch receives complaints every week about shoddy work by many of Ontario's Legal Aid Lawyers. While some do a job job, sadly many do not. The article below from the Toronto Sun gives yet another example of this problem from the perspective of another journalist.

Three sets of court transcripts in one case altered at the Brampton, Ontario Courthouse

(April 6, 2010) A father has reported that he believes three sets of transcripts from the Brampton, Ontario courthouse for three separate court appearances have been altered to either remove or rephrase information in a way that was harmful to his family court matter.

Threatening to take children may be coercion - child protection workers to face jury

Canada Court Watch receives calls from parents who claim that they felt forced to sign consent agreement with CAS under threat that their children would be taken away from them. Some parents have actual recordings of such threats from CAS workers in Ontario.
